All in The Family

Help us honour Stampin' Up! Australian General Manager, Dave Abbott. Dave passed away from a rare blood disease, and during November we’re donating 100 percent of the sales worldwide from the All in the Family stamp set to the Dave Abbott Family Fund.

The All in the Family stamp set will appear in the Idea Book & Catalogue 2008-2009 (which will be released in April), but has been pre-released to raise money for the Abbott family. The set will not be available again after 30 November until 1 April. This Promotion runs from 1st November until the 30th November. I am offering it to you at 20% off! So, instead of $73.95, you'll pay only $59.15 (plus shipping and handling).

World Card Making Day

Yesterday was the official World Card Making Day, and I had a Christmas Card workshop where 6 ladies came along and made 10 cards each, being 5 of 2 designs. There were some variations using different stamps and colours to colour in the images. We had a ball!

Catching Up

It's been a long time since I've posted, due to my study schedule and having lots on my plate...

I've finally got the Sizzix machine out of the box and have created a title page with the one and only alphabet set I have so far, and am happy with the results. I might add a little to the title page to finish it off, and when it's finished I'll post a picture.

Upcoming workshops will include stamping, punch art and using die cut machines, hence the need to have a practice with the Sizzix first.

Change in program

Well yesterday when I went to TAFE the lecturer told us we had to change the class time from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon, so this means from next week I have to change my weekly schedule yet again.

From next week, my regular class which is normally on Thursdays 9.30 - 12.30 will now be on Tuesdays 9.30 - 12.30. Sorry for the inconvenience, I don't like having to change my schedule like this.

Also, I'll be having a Bonus Weekend Workshop on March 31/April 1, just because we sort of have an extra weekend in the month. Saturday's session will be from 1 - 5 as normal, but Sunday's session will be from 10 am to 5 pm, to give us lots of time to get lots of pages done. I will be showing how to do Power Layouts, which is a speedy way of getting lots of pages completed. Bookings are essential.

Free Online Photography Course

While reading some blogs today I came across a link to a great Free Online Photography Course which has some great lessons on general photography, whether you use film or digital.

Digital SLR Newbie?

Scrapbookgraphics has a DSLR for Newbies challenge which runs over a 7 week period and looks at different aspects of using a digital SLR, so that you learn how to use it properly. Week 1 looks at white balance, Week 2 looks at depth of field and aperture priority mode. It's good to try the challenges/assignments, even if not entering in the competition.
