Hi,

Thanks for stopping by today. It’s time for another Artful Stampers team blog hop, and this time the theme is non-traditional Christmas colours.

Here’s my card:

I think this qualifies as non-traditional Christmas colours – don’t you agree?

I love Santa in his board shorts – much more appropriate for us in Australia as Christmas is in our summer season.

To make this card I used the cute So Santa stamp set from the Holiday catalogue, together with the Under the Sea Framelits and the Pinewood Planks embossing folder from the Annual catalogue.

I stamped surfing Santa with black StazOn ink on Shimmery White cardstock and die cut a stitched square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I put some drops of ink refills onto a laminated sheet and picked up the colours using my Aqua Painters and coloured in the image. When that was dry I matted it onto a square of Pool Party cardstock cut with one of the Layering Squares Framelits. I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.

I die cut the net from the Under the Sea Framelits out of Soft Suede cardstock, and the sand dollars out of Vellum cardstock. I then sponged the edges of the vellum pieces with Soft Suede ink. I used the Pinewood Planks Dynamic embossing folder to emboss a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock, then dragged the Sahara Sand stamp pad across the embossing to add colour and show up the gorgeous texture.

I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Shimmery White and matted it onto a strip of Pool Party. Then I arranged all of the elements on the card and stuck them all down, using Dimensionals for Santa and the greeting.

I enjoyed making this card and included it as one of the cards in this week’s card class featuring this stamp set.
