Hi there,

Have you started making your Christmas cards yet? I’ve made a few so far, and have lots to do, so I’m spreading the production of Christmas cards over a few months.

Here is a recent card, made with some products that are in the Holiday Catalogue.

The stamp set is called Toile Christmas, and features the gorgeous cardinal bird, a branch and some greetings for the front of the card as well as for the inside.

There is a coordinating die set called Christmas Cardinal dies, which contains dies to cut out the bird, branch, banner greetings, plus a couple of extra leaf/branch shapes.

I used Thick Whisper White for the card base, and Whisper White for the other panels. The measurements are:

Card base: A5 (14.8cm x 21cm), scored and folded to 14.8cm x 10.5cm
Whisper White: 14.3cm x 10cm, 13.8cm x 9.5cm, plus a scrap for the greeting banner.

I stamped the bird and branch in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them in using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I then die cut them out using the matching dies.

I then used that panel as a mat for the embossed piece. To change the colour from white to red I used a dauber to heavily sponge Cherry Cobbler ink around the edges, this saves cardstock.

I did do a video on this but I’ve had so much trouble trying to edit it that I’ve given up for the moment. I may do another one if I can find the time, and if I get enough requests for one.

If you’d like to make this card, here are the supplies I used. To order, just click on any image to go to my online shop.
