Dove of Hope Christmas card!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Today I thought I would share my first Christmas card I've made for 2020. Is it too early to start making Christmas cards? I always try to start early so I have enough to give or send by December. I quite often end up in a rush near the end, and sometimes a few people miss out!

I've used the gorgeous dies from the Dove of Hope bundle in the new August - December 2020 mini catalogue from Stampin' Up! The sentiment is also from the bundle.

You can't see it in the photo but I've used my Wink of Stella glitter brush on the dove. On the smaller Pretty Peacock panel I used a sponge dauber to heavily apply Pretty Peacock ink to the edges to darken them to make it stand out from the card base of the same colour. I flicked Frost White Shimmer Paint onto the panel with a paint brush to add texture. I also lightly sponged Old Olive ink around the olive sprig. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

This card is similar to one in the catalogue, I've used the same colours, but I've put the feature panel on an angle instead of straight. I usually like my cards straight, but this appealed to me.

Here are the supplies I used to make this card. The Dove of Hope bundle will be available from August 4 in my online shop, but all of the other supplies are available now. Just click on the images below to go to my online shop.

World of Good Card Class - cards for the guys!

World of Good suite www.tinascreativestudio.com

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Do you struggle with cards for the men in your life? This set of cards might be for you!

I always get requests from my class ladies to come up with masculine cards for the guys - without frills or fussy embellishments. I thought the World of Good suite of products would be good for "man cards".

This card is inspired by one made by Kylie Bertucci.

For this card I used the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder to create a textured background panel for my stamped feature panel. I used Misty Moonlight cardstock and sponged the edges and some of the raised areas in Night of Navy ink. The images are stamped in Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. I used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch for the label, and some Cinnamon Cider ribbon for the trim. The greeting is from one of my go-to sets, Itty Bitty Birthdays.

For this one I chose one of the papers from the World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper pack, which is Cinnamon Cider in colour. I used Early Espresso for the card base and also for the greeting label. I used one of the Stitched Nested Labels dies to put the stamped and die cut globe on. After stamping the globe and stand in Early Espresso ink on Whisper White I decided the white was too stark so I sponged some Cinnamon Cider on it to give an old world look. I used the same treatment on the greeting label.

For this card I chose one of the new background stamps, Drybrush, to create a background for my focal image. I stamped this in Sahara Sand ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, then matted it onto black, and the card base is Thick Very Vanilla cardstock. I die cut the globe and stand from the Copper Foil cardstock mat that is under the black piece. The greeting is from Itty Bitty Birthdays, and is stamped in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.
