Aussie Christmas in July for Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Hi,

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

It's time for another blog hop, this time I'm hopping with the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop, and our theme this month is a sneak peek at the new mini catalogue that comes into effect on August 3. If you've come from Donna's blog, welcome! If you get lost on the hop, I've included a list below.

As the catalogue is mainly Christmas focused, I decided to make a card that is more Aussie flavoured - we don't get snow at Christmas as our summer season is December - February. We do have evergreen trees and our gum trees are more of an olive green colour, so I've incorporated those into my card.

Christmas Season bundle card

This is actually an easy card to make, the stamps and dies add all the detail.

For the background I used the layered Christmas Pinecone dies to die cut one from Old Olive cardstock and the overlay from Mossy Meadow cardstock, and adhered them to the Cherry Cobbler card base.

I stamped the leaves in Old olive and Mossy Meadow ink (stamped off first to give a lighter shade) on Very Vanilla cardstock and die cut them with the matching dies. I stamped the 2-stem pine cones in Crumb Cake and Soft Suede ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and die cut with the matching dies.

The label is one of the labels in the Christmas Season bundle, which I also cut from Very Vanilla cardstock. The sentiment comes from another new set, the Happy Holly-Days stamp set, and I stamped that in Cherry Cobbler ink. The ribbon is the new Cherry Cobbler & Gold ribbon, and I finished off with a couple of Matte Decorative Dots.
