Sketch challenge for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Stamping with Friends blog hop
Hi,

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, and it's time for another Stamping with Friends blog hop. If this is your first visit to my blog, welcome! This time we are using a sketch for inspiration:

Sketch challenge

I decided to use the Blessing of Home stamp set from the January - June 2022 mini catalogue. Here is what I came up with:

Blessings of Home card

I stamped the large floral image from the set in Memento black ink onto Basic White cardstock, and coloured with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. The colours I used are Misty Moonlight, Fresh Freesia, Just Jade, Petal Pink and Cajun Craze. I then die cut it using the matching die.

I cut a piece from the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper for one of the background panels, and used a dauber to sponge the edges with Misty Moonlight ink. The other background panel is a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock that has been embossed with the Gingham embossing folder, and then I dragged the Craft White stamp pad over it to apply some white to the raised areas. It gives it a look of faded denim.

The sentiment comes from the Blessings of Home stamp set, and I used a Misty Moonlight Stampin' Write marker to just apply ink to just the Thank You on the rubber, and not the rest of the sentiment. You can only use dye based markers, such as the Stampin' Write markers, to do this technique, not alcohol markers like the Stampin' Blends, they will just stain the stamp. Ask me how I know!

I finished off the card with a few Iridescent Rhinestones for bling. I'm happy with how the card came out.

Now head on over to Candi's blog to continue on the hop!
